Legislative Advocacy

CRS advocates for national and global policies that address the root causes of poverty, conflict, and inequality. Through our legislative network, we bridge the gap between U.S. Catholics and international policymakers.

Our active campaigns focus on:

  • Protecting the U.S. International Affairs Budget (foreign aid).
  • Supporting global hunger relief initiatives in the Farm Bill.
  • Enacting policies that support climate resilience for small-scale farmers.
  • Protecting refugees and displaced populations seeking safety from conflicts.

Parish & University Chapters

CRS Chapters are groups of dedicated volunteers in parishes and universities across the United States who gather to pray, learn, act, and advocate together.

By starting or joining a chapter, you receive training resources, regular policy briefs, and a community of like-minded individuals working to advance human dignity globally.

Chapter Activities:

  • Hosting regional "CRS Rice Bowl" activities during Lent.
  • Coordinating advocacy letter-writing drives after weekend mass.
  • Organizing educational movie screenings and panel discussions.
